Can Dogs Eat Turkey Meat?
One of my favorite holidays, Thanksgiving! We all love to eat turkey and celebrate with family and our canine family members. Once the feast is over, we are tempted to let our buddies celebrate too with leftover turkey meat. So, can dogs eat turkey meat? Below is some good information about giving your dog turkey.
Turkey is not toxic to dogs. It is used in many dog foods and treats. It is rich in protein, riboflavin, and phosphorous. Thanksgiving turkeys are not cooked plain. The turkey has butter, oils and we season them with salt, pepper and different herbs and spices. We stuff them full of stuffing, onions and garlic. For our dogs, this is a recipe for an upset stomach.
Feed turkey safely. Skip the skin, fat and seasoning, these are dangerous for dogs. The fat content can irritate your dog’s stomach and could cause pancreatitis. Make sure you feed your dog only turkey, onions are toxic to dogs. Feed your dog small quantities and make sure there are no bones.

Why am I unable to find purina prime tender jerky treats (turkey) anywhere? I even contacted purina & received no response. It’s the only treat that my dog will eat!

Thank you for visiting my site. I have not completed all the information and links yet but I found two places online that had those treats. You are right they are out of stock at most places, supply shortages.
I found some online at Target and Safeway.
